I’ve been to a few opera performances in my life. I decided to quit going because I found it to be two hours of boredom punctuated by mere moments of brilliance. Those brief moments were spectacular indeed, but I felt like the bulk of the experience was akin to sitting in a dental chair, and not all that much fun. I decided to find a better way to enjoy the moments of brilliance sans the boredom of the balance.
Making a playlist on a music app isn’t that challenging and I use two of them: Amazon Prime Music and YouTube. I’ll share a few of my favorite arias with you, but you do not have to like them. I would suggest, however, that you give them a try.
Luciano Pavarotti
One of the greatest operatic tenors of all time. His performances of Nessun dorma, an aria from Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot, are epic. Try it HERE:
