They are in our brains, hearts, and blood — but what are they doing to us?
“We’re now producing 440 million tons of plastic every year, with the total still trending upward.” Kristin Houser
“In 2022, scientists found microplastics — pieces of plastic less than five millimeters long — in human blood. Since then, they’ve been discovered throughout the human body, including in our lungs, kidneys, livers, hearts, and brains.”
Recently, an article was published at Freethink.com exposing the extent to which plastic particles invade our planet, almost all of which are not visible to the naked eye. These microplastic particles are everywhere, and we are eating, drinking, and breathing them into our bodies. What are the health effects? Scientists are attempting to find out.
To fully understand the threat these microplastic particles present, I recommend that you follow this link and read Ms. Houser’s article.
